Our Story

Founded on instinct, sharpened by discipline

Instinct Capital was founded by Joshua Terrell after more than a decade advising high-net-worth clients at national wealth management firms. Frustrated by proprietary product quotas and rotating advisor teams, Joshua set out to build something different in his own backyard: a boutique, fiduciary practice rooted in Dublin, Ohio.

Today, Joshua leads a small team — including Senior Wealth Advisor Oscar P. Manuel and Wealth Advisor Garth C. Terrell — that serves a deliberately limited number of families across Dublin, Powell, and the greater Columbus area. The firm's name reflects its philosophy: sound judgment, built on instinct earned through experience, and applied with rigorous discipline.

Joshua Terrell founded Instinct Capital to bring an independent, fiduciary standard of advice to high-net-worth families across Dublin and Powell, Ohio. With many years of experience in private wealth management, Joshua specializes in multi-generational wealth transfer, concentrated stock diversification for founders and executives, and coordinated planning for families navigating a business sale or liquidity event.

Before founding Instinct Capital, Joshua spent over a decade advising high-net-worth clients at national wealth management institutions, where he built a reputation for direct, unvarnished counsel. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation and is a frequent resource to local business owners on succession and exit planning. Joshua lives in Central Ohio and personally leads the firm's founding client relationships from the Dublin office.
